If you are interested in reducing the amount you consume, why not measure you ecological footprint? There are lots of website that can help you do this, with lots or just a little detail. They can show you where your biggest impacts are, and how you can make positive change.

Some things you may like to consider, that the Council can help with, are:

- Recycling and reducing your waste

The Council has bring to and kerbside recycling facilities, and can help with setting up home composting. Why not sign up to Stop junk mail being pushed through your door?

- Energy conservation and alternative energy generation

The Council has a dedicated energy site, specifically targeted at residents. It gives loads of ideas and practical help to individuals interested in reducing their impact.

- Tackling fuel poverty

- Reducing your travel impacts

Surrey County Council have publised maps of cycle routes in Surrey.

- Community living

To 'put something back', and actively improve your environment, why not try conservation volunteering with a local group or other voluntary activities?
