Knowledge Test

Application Guidance

This consists of a 3 part verbal test for Hackney Carriage and a 2 part verbal test for Private Hire.

Part 1. - (Hackney Carriage only)

Routes from stations as explained on enclosed test paper.

Part 2. -

120 locations in Runnymede.
Know the exact location/road name.

Part 3. -

a) Byelaws, requirements and conditions
b) Highway Code road signs.

25 questions will be asked from the above.

(Combined licence applicants will have to study both Hackney Carriage and Private Hire).

When you are ready to undertake the knowledge test please contact this office to arrange an interview and test date and bring with you your DVLA driving licence and birth certificate (or passport).
